Once upon a time, in a land far away, a long, long time ago there lived…
Creatures and characters great and small created through improvisation by a seasoned team of actors from across the country! Story theatre for families- people of all ages- cozy up and get whisked away in classic stories told in a fun informal dinner theatre setting. A most creative family date!

This improvisation team has been collaborating for over a decade under the mentorship of Paul Sills, respected creator of Second City and Tony award winning “Story Theatre”. The actors work in the style of created by Paul’s mother Viola Spolin. Her games originated in the 1930’s and are the founding form of American improvised theatre. The team performed most recently in LA for an improv show directed by Dick Schaal. Always excited to meet up no matter the distance, this dynamic ensemble lights up a room every time they gather.

The producer, Portland theatre Brigade is an ensemble of students from across Portland who work in the Spolin Theatre Games and Story Theatre. Every Spring they tour stories to over 7000 school children for free. Proceeds from “Grilled Cheese Theatre” will benefit their tour and allow them to continue to offer their services to our schools.
